Number of E90 and E92 on the road in Australia
I came across an interesting site where you can look up any make/model of car and find out how many are still registered:
https://carsafe.com.au/risk-rating# 320d E90: 6364 vehicles on the road, 10 thefts last year. 320i E90: 16787 vehicles on the road, 73 thefts last year. 323i E90: 3464 vehicles on the road, 12 thefts last year. 325i E90: 4355 vehicles on the road, 17 thefts last year. 325i E92: 1528 vehicles on the road, 12 thefts last year. 335i E92: 2093 vehicles on the road, 14 thefts last year. Models with less than <100 registrations per state are not listed. So in total there are still more than 34591 of the E9x models on the roads in Australia. (M3 has its own statistics). A few could be sitting at car yards without plates on them. I don't have the statistics for what the new sales were between 2005 and 2012, but quite a few would be written off by now. Cheers, |

Good to know - look for them soon down at a wrecker near you!
I tried to look up the number of e30s left out of interest, but it only goes back to the e36... still, looks like there's less than 5000 e36s left vs. the numbers originally sold, so I'd imagine that e30 numbers are even lower than that. They've become nearly impossible to find at the wreckers now, so not surprising I guess. |

It looks like you have less than 1000 vehicles to pick from in Australia of the E90 335i variant, as it isn't in the statistics.
I missed the E93 models when I looked up. There are 1651 vehicles of the 335i with push-button roof. Cheers, |

Wife had a 320i (E90) from 2006 to 2016.
Fuel economy has been great thanks to the valvetronic design. Service cost at the dealer is not for people on a budget. (But brake parts from Ebay and DIY install for those helps). All in all a good car, but I've had a fair amount of work required on the engine. It had oil leaks all along, and various coolant leaks. Quite early it had faulty valvetronic sensor. The N46 engine should have had an old fashion oil dipstick, as you can't necessarily thrust the electronic sensor. Wife managed to keep driving it one day with low oil and low coolant, (possibly ignoring any warnings on the dash) until the engine was toast, so I had to find another low km engine from a wrecker and had that fitted. Also the 'new' engine kept leaking coolant. Then the header tank of the radiator split. The 6HP19 trans has been leaking too, so much that suddenly it wouldn't shift gears anymore, so I had to change the pan seal and cable plug seal, and re-fill it. Magically the trans was all good again. Some of you will probably suggest the car wasn't serviced enough by the specialists at the dealer. Probably true, but that would have burned an even bigger hole in the servicing cost total. Anyway, the E90 has aged gracefully and looks better now than a Commodore or Camry at the time would look now. Cheers, |

I looked at this website again, and discovered that the statistics of registered vehicles seems to be active (current) as they have changed since I looked at it last in January:
https://carsafe.com.au/risk-rating# 320d E90: Jan 2019: 6364 vehicles on the road. Sept: 6323 vehicles. 320i E90: Jan 2019: 16787 vehicles on the road. Sept: 16507 vehicles. 323i E90: Jan 2019: 3464 vehicles on the road. Sept: 3437 vehicles. 325i E90: Jan 2019: 4355 vehicles on the road. Sept: 4316 vehicles. 325i E92: Jan 2019: 1528 vehicles on the road. Sept: 1513 vehicles. 335i E92: Jan 2019: 2093 vehicles on the road. Sept: 2085 vehicles. 323i E36: Sept.2019: 1122 vehicles. 320i E46: Sept.2019: 3316 vehicles. 325i E46: Sept.2019: 3430 vehicles. X3 E83: Sept.2019: 6896 vehicles. It shows how a few are going to car heaven each month. Perhaps not as bad as for other makes of the same age. Sorry guys, I haven't looked up all the different engines and models such as E93. Cheers, |

Heaps of E92's though.. Can't even find one to give them the thumbs up!
