best bay area car wash?
I live in a townhome and all the garages are small and if I pull out to the driveway, I would be blocking neighbors from entering and exiting their garages. So a professional car wash is the next best thing. Any suggestions for the SF Bay Area? South Bay? Penninsula?
mduchesne, you mentioned your step dad owns a few, where are they? |

Pristine Auto Detail
1323 Rollins Road Burlingame, CA (650) 342-1660 By appointment only. They usually only do full details, but ask for Berto and see if he has time to wash your car. One of the few detail shops in the entire Bay Area that actually has a water filtration system (its like using Evian to wash your car!) to prevent water spots. I live in the East Bay and I still make the drive, they are that good. BTW: The 3 step exterior detail is awesome - clay, polish, wax. Your car's paint will look AND feel like glass when they are done. People have used him to win quite a few concours. -Sam |

Consider a mobile car wash at your office. When I was still in SoCal, there were a ton of these businesses, it's very competitive there. We had 3 different crews coming to a tiny executive suite complex every week. All were very professional, including carrying their own deionized water. And a full-service wash was about $15, a relative bargain, especially considering the convenience factor.. and of course they all offered full-detail services as well. I've gotta believe such guys exist in the bay area. Track one down and get him started, and help drum up some regular weekly business so they'll keep coming back.

Do you have any recommendations for a mobile car wash or detail shop to do clay and wax in the East Bay?

Marie-Louise,
Thank you. I will give Weatherford a try during my next unscheduled oil change.

Just to offer my $.02, do NOT use Ducky's in Burlingame. I went there a few times and have always had some problem with the car after. They forget to vacuum areas, I've had things broken (which they replaced), etc. What they do to the car is nice, but always something I wasn't expecting.

Besides the Weatherford dealer, who is great for detailing, can anyone recommend a good carwash in the Oakland/ Berkeley area? I'm too busy/ lazy to drive across the Bay to get my car washed on a regular basis.

I bet my little brother will do it for you for like $25, he washes cars the way the Detailing 101 thread says to do it. If you pay extra, he can clay and wax too.

Autopia in Walnut Creek is acceptable, many high end cars. I would like to know more about their detailing quality. I doubt it's gonna be good. I think I should try from the above posts, either ADS mobile or Pristine Auto Detail, when I am ready to take it for detailing.

I recommend you guys take it to one of the detailers from the forum here, Fminus, LRG So cal, and AoshichanX, and ADHD all do great work and they're from Cali. If someone is taking out swirl marks for 80 bucks they are either a fool or using products that fill the swirls not remove them. Using quality products I say you use atleast 30-40 dollars worth if not more. Not to mention the cost of all the towels, supplies, equipment etc.
