Watch out boys...they are sponsors here. May get banned like the rest of the crowd that knew something about this platform.
OP...BPC tune should serve you OK, but just know they had a well documented string of cars that were running into mechanical issues, like bad injectors, maf, etc, for which their tune suppressed the DTC trouble codes. This has allegedly been fixed, but their customers weren't too happy with how the situation was handled. |

I know the rule of thumb is not to advertise if you aren't a paid sponsor but that seems a little extreme if they ban you for giving your opinion.. just saying. |

Can you provide more details on this fix? I'm running a JR tune and only get smoke when I drive aggressively.
I've also read that some of the other, newer tunes dont have this issue but I havent looked into it yet. |

Not necessarily.. you can spend the $300+ for the upgraded intake and if you have a boost leak somewhere you will continue to smoke just as bad. There could be hundreds of reasons why your car smokes more than others and it takes time to narrow it down.

Still don't get why guys tuning their diesels care about smoke. I been playing with them for 20 years and never saw a good-running one making decent power without a smoke element to it. Then came emissions controls. And the workarounds and compromises. Sorry folks, but you can't have it both ways. Making power boils down to how much fuel and air you can push through it, and when it comes to diesels, that means smoke. You don't see it as much from the gassers, but it's there, just not soot.
So if you want a powerful, tuned M57, get used to the idea of smoke. Simple as that. Only question is how much. Your power and smoke levels will always be roughly proportional, within tune quality variances. Last edited by Nadir Point; 09-05-2019 at 12:54 PM.. |

DM me for info about BPC suppressing codes. ATM intake will reduce smoke considerably. No way to see suppressed codes besides flashing back to stock.

Yup, some Nazi Bootmod3 sponsor called my 340i a piece of shit for running the MHD tune and i told him to get softer knee pads and they banned my original account for saying that, but it was okay for him to say what he wanted because i wasn't running the bootmod3 tune. |
