What oil??

Hi all,

My car is due a service and I need it done this week, can anyone tell me if I can use Mobile one 0w-40 instead of Castrol Edge 0w-30??

Also does anyone know which petrol stations sell Castrol Edge (I have a fuel card so I get 60% off )

Sure it will be fine, I assume you're doing it yourself so they won't have a chance to moan if it's not ll04 rated.

Fact is it'll be fine for your car no doubts about that.

Just rang BMW and they said that Mobile 1 0W-40 is fine, so the service is £60 oh and £40 for the oil

Thanks mate, I used it in my 330ci and it was excellent.

Just managed to get 10 litres of Mobile 1 0W-40 for £90 so that will be £40 to me then

£100 all in is good for me

Yes but surely the wear has been done. Original oil at 0miles and then service at 19k miles then service at 3osomething k miles..

Surely its pointless now thought see what i mean?

lol so why ask our advice, if you think the oil is ok, leave it in the engine, shucks if it stays slippy why bother ever changing it again

lol
