This happened to my toyota celica, a freaking shopping cart hit my car. I didnt notice it until i got home, I went back to the supermarket (albertsons) and talked to the head manager. He ame out and inspected the car, check if the hit matched the height of one of their shopping cars. It did.
So He told me he was going to talk the person that handles their lot insurance.

Anywho Ill cut to the end. I ended up getting 300 or 400 dollars for the damage, which is better than nothing .... The dent wasnt as bad as yours but there were 2 of them, the front end of the shopping cart hit my car.

Good luck!

There's no way scheerspeed would live with that.

I'm about 3000 miles away, and this has no effect on me whatsoever....yet I'm pissed that someone would do this. You're like me....I park so far away from other cars that I should call a taxi to get to the store entrance.

I never understand why people do such stupid things.

shitty luck SS....you seem to be taking it better then I would.

I would at least give some touch up paint and wet sanding a try. You have nothing to lose, since if it doesnt work you you have to get it painted anyway.

Unfortunately, that's in no way a "self fix."

I'm pissed just looking at the pic Inconsiderate fuckers in the world, they should be hung by their toes and flogged.

How's this for bad luck?

I was driving to work, traffic on the freeway was a bit heavy. I was in the far left lane and I somehow see a spray paint can rolling on the freeway. the guy in front of me runs over it, dead center.

At first, I didn't notice any problems. Then about five miles later I stop for coffee at the local Starbucks, backing my car in to the parking spot.

As I walk around the front of the car, I notice that a rather large portion of the right front bumper, hood, quarterpanel, side-view mirror and a tiny bit of the door are covering my beautiful (and only three month old) e90 with white spots of paint.

As I'm walking up to the Starbucks, I pull out my phone to call Phil (FMINUS). Turns out, he had just called me to confirm my drop-off for the next night (I actually thought it was in June based on a misunderstanding in our emails). In any event, I need to get the bumper repainted now.

I seem to share your luck also, my car's been keyed three times, bumper scraped twice. Then just today some dimwit at the gas station spilled gas and proceded to wipe it up with a squeegee that they have for the windows, and then wipe it up with a paper towel. If I wasn't for a scratch I have in that area and in a rush to class I would've made a scene. This is exactly why I always get out of the car and fill up myself before they have a chance to.

I'm going to try touching up and wet sanding all the scars if that doesn't work I'm going to have to get it painted.

I had tan overspray from guys painting wrought iron doors land on my black motorcycle, grey truck, and red wagon. Clay got it ALL off. Are you sure you need to have it repainted??
