2009 335xi Sedan Red MT
About a year after I first got to thinking about getting a new (to me) F30, I finally picked it up and now my 335xi is ready to go to a new home. I am the second owner. I bought this car in early 2016 from a BMW/Ford dealer that had the car as a trade in. The original owner traded it in to get a pickup truck (why). I got it with 72k and in the last 3+ years I've done a lot of driving so how it is at 133k. It was under an extended warranty until last year when I hit 110k. Red is one of the best colors for this car and it is hard to find. I've done a lot in the time I've had it to keep it feeling new and fun to drive: Custom Corsa exhaust with deleted cats (resonators in place) VRSF Downpipes CAI (routed in front of wheel well) KW V1 coilovers Black VMR CSL reps (powder coated to refresh color last year) All new front end suspension parts (if it had rubber at either end-I replaced it) New BMW axles all around New motor mounts Slotted x-drilled rotors Dynavin N6 head unit with CarPlay adapter (makes it so easy to use waze) JL 600 amp with new SWS underseat subs M3 wheel with carbon fiber trim (contrast stitching) Stainless interior trim Halfway through custom ambient lighting mod-connected through window switch New Hankook Ventus Noble tires in 225/45/18 and 255/35/18 Snow tires on Rial Salernos 225/45/17 (one kept in trunk as full sized spare) M3 rep front bumper upgraded angel eyes and LED fogs Cobb V2 Trunk spoiler BMW roof rack Since I've had the car, the turbos, HPFP, walnut blasting, water pump and thermostat were all done. I recently replaced the steering rack and put new tie rods on again. The new rack really feels tight and super responsive. The summer tires are about a year old with two of them being replaced even more recently because of road hazards. The winter snow tires might have a season left but not much more than that. I am starting to hear a little waste gate rattle but I suppose that is to be expected with about 50k on the replaced turbos. The front bumper has two spots where the paint is peeling a bit so I am planning to have it resprayed at the place that painted it the first time. The paint match was perfect so I'll trust that they get it right again. The hood has its share of rock chips that were all there when I got the car from Pennsylvania. I sometimes see a puff of smoke from the exhaust but again, I suppose that is to be expected at this age. It does not consume more oil than it did before. I also have an inactive TPMS even though I have replaced both the antennas. I will see if the module is the culprit since there is not much left replace. I love turning a wrench and keeping on top of things so I can walk anyone interested through any questions on the car. I have all the service records from my trips to BMW and all the recipes for the parts I've bought along the way. I love FCPEuro and living in CT means I can swing by there on the way home and pick my parts up fast! I've put up pics of the car with both the summer and winter wheels (see second post). There is also one of my new 340 so you know I'm committed to the 3 series! The buyer will get all the wheels along with the original radio and CC and anything else that I have for the E90. I have the OEM DPs and airbox pieces if you ever have the need to revert to stock. I do not have the original exhaust any more. This car gets compliments all the time and I've only seen a handful of red sedans...but not one 335xi. PM me if you'd like more info or specific pics. I posted a feeler for this car last year the week I got back from one of the M Car Control Clinics...but I never pulled the trigger on the M3. The 340xi is the better option for me and I am so happy I didn't give in to that impulse. Maybe my 335 is a good option for you! Last edited by sluggo1246; 09-09-2019 at 10:22 PM.. Ugh! I'm going to run this past the wife. I totaled my red 335i in January, couldn't find another one that checked the boxes.. ended up driving to Connecticut for a Red Sti.. seemed like it was meant to be. I wasn't happy so I just sold the STI and am on the hunt for another 335i. Connecticut was a haul (Youngstown, Ohio) and I set a 4 hour limit to my drive. I'll let you know if I can figure something out, if not Good Luck with the sale!

I know the feeling well! I found this 335 outside of Pittsburgh and that was almost a seven hour drive. The 340 I just got was in New Hampshire but I think the hunt for the perfect car for you makes it all worthwhile. I was really good at tricking BMWs CPO search tool to scour the country for a manual m-sport with all I needed (the 340).
If you get the green light, we can figure out the logistics and FaceTime/skype might be a good way to kick the virtual tires. PM me and I can give you my contact info. |

bump and a price drop. I'd entertain offers where I would keep some of the items like the:
-radio, amp and CarPlay -winter wheels -roof rack |

Thanks for the compliment. If it is still listed as available...feel free to reach out for me. I'd prefer it went to someone who really appreciated these cars!

It passed here in CT when I took it in last time--and it had the downpipes at that point. I used my Cobb to clear whatever codes there were just in case but there wasn't anything related to the O2 sensors.
I don't know if that means it will pass everywhere because I don't know the parameters of the testing but here they plugged into my OBD2 for it. I hope that helps you. |
