I just purchased a 2011 325i and I'm trying to sync my iPhone to the car. I have tried pressing the telephone bottom with the car on and waiting to see if it will show up in the device list on my iPhone and it does not. I have tried syncing it using the menu button in the car but no menu for the phone. What am I missing?

not all BMW come with BT. Do you have I drive, or BMW assist?
if not you don't have it.

Even if the steering wheel has the buttons on it and the phone button sits just below the menu button?

yes, the buttons are there but will do nothing if you don't have the options above. welcome to bmw ownership

if you don't have option S609A, S639A, or S6AA listed, you don't have BT.
