Who else is excited for the first new half-life game in 12 years? Looks promising but now I need a VR headset.

Yeah, it's no episode 3 but it's better than nothing. Apparently they developed a whole new source engine 2, so I doubt it will be wasted on a single VR game.

I also feel cheated. I don't understand the VR aspect. Are they intentionally trying to make an excuse for this to not do well? Not to mention the damage they have to overcome for not addressing this franchise for 12 years.

Fortunately my brother has a VR headset but it's a shame that is the only way to play it. They better finally pull through with EP 3...

I'm ready, bought an index setup and played with it a bit today. Crazy how much better it is compared to the PSVR. Now I'm just trying to figure out if a 2080 super is worth an extra 180 bucks over the 2070 super.

For those of you who don't have a VR headset, I HIGHLY recommend the Oculus Quest. While it doesn't have the refresh rate of other headsets, the wireless setup is amazing. That being said, to play Alyx on the Quest you will need to run Oculus Link, and also have an NVidia GPU. I MUCH prefer the Oculus setup over the Vive, especially the controllers.

If you have a red GPU, then you either buy the Rift S or wait until Link supports AMD. If you don't mind cables and have no desire to every take your headset with you, then (again) grab the Rift S.

You can actually maintain the wireless-ness of the Quest and play SteamVR games via Virtual Desktop and some APK Sideloading, but that may not be for everyone. Just figured I'd give the Quest a shoutout. The roomscale is amazing, tracking is great, comfort is A+, controllers are perfect, and at $400 it can't be beat for it's price. Sure there are better VR setups out there, but they all have wires, therefore tethering you to your PC, and they all cost more. 10/10, would buy again.

Vive and Vive pro can be wireless. I have the Pro with the wireless and Index controllers, and I love it.

Don't make false claims, it makes the rest of your opinion look wrong.
