you might be able to hook a loop of thin steel aircraft wire around that and drag it out.

- Cut a length of brake pipe (as long as you need to get in there).
- Cut a length of steel wire twice the length of the brake pipe + about 6 inches.
- Loosely loop the wire and thread the 2 ends through the brake pipe.

You should now have a wire loop at one end of the brake pipe and the 2 loose ends sticking out of the other end of the pipe.

- Draw the 2 ends through the pipe until you have a small noose big enough to loop over the tab on that clip, you can test it for size on one of the other unbroken clips.

- Insert the noose end into the valve port and loop it over clip tab.
- Hold the 2 loose wire ends and slide the brake pipe down the wire to close the noose over the tab.
- Pray and pull.

Don't use too fine a wire otherwise it might cut through the tab.

Good luck !

Even if it is not in compression now, it may have entered when the valve was opened wider, hence why you can't find a way to get it out now that the valve is not as widely opened.

That being said, on your picture that valve looks pretty open already.

Once you get it out, I would check that everything looks fine when turning the engine by hand. The valve stem may have bent and that could result in serious damage.
I did get the valves to open a little more by turning the valvetronic counter clockwise. Clockwise closed them. I am not sure if the valve will open any bigger but you are right. If I can get a good hold of it then it would come out if I get the valve open more. Everything does like fine at this point unless I do further damage.

Exact same thing happened to me, exact same piece, and exact same disappearing plastic piece. Until I got misfire that wouldn't go away ...pulled manifold off to see the piece shoved in there. I used a extended hook pick and pushed it out like going around the valve ...trust me sounds easy, it took 3 hours ...it wouldn't move much. But I dunno if the valve stem got warped or whatever , still getting misfire , just not as bad but seems bad....thinking my head is done.

Just thinking, maybe some extended clamping forceps (like 15") would be ideal.

$12 on Amazon (Hawk 15" Straight Extra Long Hemostat Forceps) or maybe some with slightly curved ends?

Hope you manage to get that out, sheesh!

had a similar situation 3 years ago with a semi-hard plastic washer.

After few min to figure out how to get it out, I simply fckit, and start the car.

Nothing happened, the car still ruining great after 3 years. Im assuming it went away by the exhaust valve , then melted.

I do not suggest to do this, but worked in my case.

I am very sorry I never replied about howI got this out.
I ended up putting a dab of super glue on the end of a tool that was long enough to touch it. I inserted the tool until I made contact with the piece. I let it sir there for awhile like that to let the glue cure.
Sure enough, it worked! It stuck well to the plastic piece and it pulled it out of the intake.
It was my son’s idea.
