Cabin Air Filter Noise after change - 328i Xdrive 2009 (coupe)
Hello there fellas,
First and foremost, I drive a 2009 328iXdrive coupe with sports package. I've recently done my first Cabin Air Filter change and I've unfortunately overspun some bolts (2 of them, heard a littlle *pleck*) and now they are spinning in false. I removed them before reattaching and some of the plastic from the nut has come out. Now when I drive at around 100-120 km/h they make a rattling noise (I assume it is due to the empty space and consequent vibration). Has anyone been through a similar situation? Can I just replace the nuts or do I have to get a whole Cabin Filter Housing? If nuts are replaceable, could anyone share a link for the part? New to maintenance here, forgive if it is a stupid question. Thanks in advance, Tigre. |

they do not thread into nuts, they thread into the plastic.
I put threaded inserts in all of the plastic holes and went to regular machine screws. problem solved forever. |
