It was clear to me from the start that the 1380 was the 15% off price...
Didn't realize the original price shown was a sale price. I assumed since the email came through today that these were not on sale two days ago

Thats just outrageously silly priced. Get the oem location inlets and save the leftover cash for turbo upgrade.

Its beautiful but just unnecessary

Depends on your goals for the car, I guess. I am in a quandry right now between upgrading my 335i to a forever car or moving up to something else.

Especially for only a 20-ish hp gain.

Not for any turbos I am willing to put on the car...lol.

Nothing against the PR kit but this kit has a lot more holistic approach to me. Whether that is worth 3X the price is the question...
I think ecs typically drops their prices a bit over time. This kit just came out a few weeks ago, it's too bad they are so late to develop this given how old the n54 platform is.

Ya when these cars where new maybe people would pay that, but with the average e90 worth less than 10k who drops almost 2k on an intake anymore, they are a bit late to the came to get a premium price.

This kit has been out for some time. I think it still has its place in the market for those looking for a thorough setup. I'm sure someone has bought it already! I would love to see this setup in person.

^ they look pretty clean! The pictures on the website are slightly deceptive unless you look closely. On Turner's page it almost appears as though there is a heat shield or plate that is below the filters (probably appears this way because of the engine bay being black), essentially creating more of a box, but from your picture it looks like the shroud mostly goes around the filters...hmmm

Surprised nobody has bought this and sent it to China to recreate and sell as their own for $500 bucks. MMP? VRSF? Get on it lol.

Inlets are generally worth about 20-30hp in the upper rpm range. It will depend on your tune, they are usually only worth it if you are maxing out the OEM turbos or have upgraded turbos.

Yep, only real gain on stock turbos would be the response.

When the fender liner is in that part is covered up. It is more of a sealed "box" when that is in place.

I also need to put the weatherstrip/seal along the top of the metal pieces so they seal against the hood.

Makes sense, thanks for the clarification!

Are you leaving it out in order to promote more airflow to the filters or just didnt reinstall it yet?

Check it out, all installed and did a little painting to make the box look more uniform
