Is there any benefit to upgrading turbos with stock fueling?

It looks like I will need to get my turbos rebuilt or at least removed quite soon. If I need to rebuild them, upgrading them is not much more expensive where I live, so I could easily go that route. However, I'm not planning on going anywhere beyong typical FBO mods, partly because meth and E85 are really hard to get over here anyway. In that case, is there any benefit in going hybrid, or is it just a waste of money?

The right turbos and tune will take you to 550whp+ on 93 octane. That with a low pressure pump, but you could make a case for upgrading that just as a maintenance item.

Itll be less without the average bolt ons, but it is worthwhile in my opinion to do it right if a bit more power sounds good to you.

Yes, you can still get the benefit of getting to red line before the turbos fall off. Stock turbos can only push to around 5500 RPM and most aftermarket can get to 7000.

If you ran out of fuel you can always upgrade the lpfp very easily and cheap.

How about ECU/DME remapping - is it necessary right away when I install a hybrid turbo (slightly bigger compressor wheel)? Or will the engine run just as stock and simply not use the potential of new turbo until I get MHD/JB4?

That's hard to say as it depends a lot on what parts are used in the Turbo and how the turbo responds. The closer to stock turbos you run the better the car will be on the stock tune. The more extreme you get the more chances you will need a custom tune. For about $500 you should get a custom tune anyway. You will see huge gains over the stock factory tune.

You'll have more area under the curve for sure, particularly above 4500 rpm or so (mods allowing).

Yes you need to tune for it.
