Display Titles of songs from CD's

Does any one know how to display the titles of songs from CD's? I was reading from the manaul quite a while ago and it was said that song titles could be displayed but the thing is i tried using the original CD's and didn't work. So i tried buring them into mp3 format and it still didn't work. Does any one know how to do this feature?

It will for MP3's but not by default(it displays a generic title "Track 1". You must press the List button and it will display a list of what's on the CD and start by highlighting the currently playing song.

At least that's the way mine works.

Yes it does without iDrive. The list is one of the soft displays on the screen and you then press the button under it.
It also may depend on how / what you used to burn the mp3's. I think you must specify ID tags but what secret works how is ?? to me. I use itunes and tell it to convert to id tags 2.4 and I get tune title. I, personally, don't think the auto manufactures have this all worked out correctly yet or with the correct instructions. My other car (Corvette) shows the title and album etc, on the display screen but on the HUD it shows file 3 folder 6 rather than the information and I guess that is that for their system.

I am also having the same problem - the titles are not showing when I put in the CD. The only options I see are Rnd and Sc, no List options. This is using both original CDs and CD's made with ITunes. Please if you know how to make this work let me know. Thanks.

The posts above are for MP3 CDs only. I don't think that a standard CD (non MP3) will display CD Text - at least not on a non-IDrive setup.
