I'm going to do hot side inlets. I'm leaning toward the turned ones. They are pricy but I like the design better than the other simpler ones. I'll probbaly upgrade my turbos when they fail so I'm going to buy the 2" and just tighten em down good on the stock turbos. I still haven't put on my down pipes that I got for Christmas yet. Its on my list of shit to do....

Whats funny is that when I was younger, I wouldn't care if a car mod took two days to install if i could save 100 bucks. Now? Not so much... the thing that's turning me off about inlets is the potential for an ass ache on the installation.
Maybe ill buy a case of beer and go for it, but from my experience everything on BMW is a PITA to install |

No but you're not going to benefit from them much without one

ARM inlets are very overpriced IMO.

Stock turbo car wrung out? Inlets will 100% help you make more power and make great induction noises. Compressor inlets are very sensitive to restriction. Outlets? FAR less of an advantage. All this gets magnified the more air you move (read that: harder you lean on stockers and/or when you upgrade to bigger ones. Only caveat to this is if you're a RHD car, that stock outlet sucks. In that case, replace them both and stick with stock turbos until they give up the ghost.

turbo-side inlets made a huge difference (20+whp) in my stock-turbo car even without a tune tailored to it. With a custom tune, we were closing in on 500whp e60 and this was DI-only. It really does open up the top-end.

I did the stock location silicon inlets, and was shocked about how much noise they made with my DCI. Sounded like there was a vacuum cleaner under the hood when the turbos spool. It was so much noise that I have gone back to using the stock air filter set up, which is a bummer. The stock air filter setup brought the noise back down to mostly quiet.

I was thinking if you had an AFE momentum CAI box & 1.75" silicone inlets, you'd have a nice set up. You would hear the turbos spool up like a jet engine every-time you hammered |

not bad
go with vrsf if you want more top end and are going to get a tune with it.(also if you dont mind the labor)
i just installed stockers and can feel the difference with MHD stage 2+ no ethanol. wedge or twisted tune would unleash the 5xx whp on e85 and or PI kit. .. my car was down for a year due to oil pan gasket, valve cover, front main seal, rear main, flywheel, clutch, relocated coolant tank, stockers, dp, 5 serpentines bc of motor mounts, then motor mounts (turner). HPFP, LPFP, FPR and leaks from a messed up lpfp lid. all those issues made me regret buying stockers. i knew i would only have stockers for a half year but now its been one hole and car is barely running and i want more. so the relocated are worth it if you are in the same boat as me. if you have the opportunity to change turbos, add in relocated turbos. also if you do control arms as they are right there. always try to have a hot side setup IMO.
