Anyone trade up in the middle of your lease?

I don't think I'll really do it, but I'm a little curious. I am about 18 months into a 36 month lease on my '06 325i. I'm right on track as far as mileage is concerned. Part of me thinks I'd really like a 335i now, and the more sensible part of me says I can make it another 18 months.

If I were to trade up, what's the usual routine? Would they try to hose me? Just curious from people that have experience with this.

I would just wait it out because it just doesnt make financial sense unless you've found someone to take over your lease. Also, keep in mind that the facelift sedan will be out as a 2009 model so you might as well wait for it (assuming you're talking about the sedan and not coupe).

I know it doesn't make financial sense any more than getting a 3-series over a Corrolla does. Just curiousity as to what it would cost.

But thanks for the heads up on the facelift as I've not been in the loop as much lately and did know about that.

all depends on what you have and what the dealer is trying to sell. this may not be an apples to apples comparision, but i had a G35 coupe with a manual transmission and everytime i would take it in for service my dealer would try and get me to trade up for a new one. reason being, there is a very large pre-owned luxary market (at least Infinitis) and this dealer had close to 0 pre-owned G35 coupes on the lot and tons of NEW ones. also they had 0 pre-owned manual trannys and he wanted one for all of the requests he was getting.

i think if you found a new one on the lot you liked and it was sitting for a while they would work something out with yoiu.

you never know unless you ask. good luck!
