how long for springs to settle?

just fitted h&r sport springs to my e92. just wondering - guy at garage said the springs need to settle - how long do you reckon it takes them to lower to their final resting place?

You're serious? Springs are springs. They do not set in at all. If they would, they would they give in over time. If you don't believe this, then have sleepless nights over the valve springs in your engine...

yeah this guys right ^......the only time a spring will reduce its length is when it goes past its elastic limit...soon after it snapps lol..... your shock may leak a little which would give the impression of 'settling'.....
