Bav sound upgrade with logic 7 or Aftermarket amp?

Hey all,

I just recently replaced my non i drive factory head unit with a CarPlay system with a back up camera

Currently using the logic 7 amp with a most 25 adapter for the factory sound, I'd like clearer and better sound

My two options

Bavsound stage 1 speaker set, keep factory amp

Or

Keep factory logic 7 speakers and ditch logic 7 amp for aftermarket amp

If I do the second option how deep do I have to change things over? Would the bavsound speaker upgrade make a difference with the factory amp?

Thanks for the help

While you can get some improvement with speakers on a Logic 7
amp (cause its not totaly gutless) the aftermarket stuff for the most part is better if you are willing to spend enough. This means buying something
like a Helix dsp/amp or Mosconi dsp/amp. Getting everything connected is the
problem Technic makes a Harness for this. The other thing is does your new
head unit become the gating factor to better sound.

Also there are many other company's that make BMW compatible plug and
play speakers other than bavsound.

I think you need to decide what your budget it is?

Bavsound by almost all accounts are better than the logic 7 speakers. How much better? That's debatable.

I think the logic 7 speakers might be rated at 40w @ 2ohm.

So, that's not a lot of power that you can use before they start to distort.

Personally, I'd look at the BMW Individual Audio speakers. You can pick up a set for $650.00 or so. I'm pretty sure they are 4ohm and can easily handle 75 to 100w a channel. The subs I think are 7-8ohm. You will want a separate amp for them.

You will need an amp that can run 75w a channel to effectively run them, in an optimal way.

You don't need a DSP for great sound, but it's a really nice addition to any sound system. JL Audio makes the Twk 88 & you can get it for around $399.00. The amp you probably want is the JL Audio XD 600/6 v2.

You will need a Technique harness and a MOST loop connector or two.

The above is for those wanting to retrofit and aftermarket amp in Logic 7
system.

how about using an individual audio amp? ind is 800 watts and logic 7 (hifi dsp in e70) is 400 watts

You'd have to code it and you'd need speakers that handle the wattage such as the BMW Individual Audio speakers etc
