I have had a few inquiries about my sub/amp, so I thought I'd create a thread with pictures for all to view.

I am selling a JL 10" W7 & JL 500/1 amp with or without enclosure. I will include all wiring (8g ground, 8g power, remote, twisted AV's, 12g speaker wire, etc.)

This was previously installed in my '05 Toyota Tacoma with a stock HU, so this sub and amp have not even been close to reaching its maximum power. Sub and Amp are both in great shape. I'm looking to get $455 shipped with no enclosure. If you would like the enclosure you'll have to pay for the extra shipping.

The ported enclosure is made to JL specs, but would need to be re-carpeted, as the previous carpet has started to come undone on the sides and it doesn't match our interior carpet.

is 500/1 enough to power a w7?

how do they sound? I Have a 250/1 with a 10w3v3. how is it compared to that?

Yes, it is. You might be able to squeeze a little bit more power with a 1000/1. Trust me though this one amp powering this one sub. HITS HARD!

You will notice a huge difference between the w3's and the w7's. Even between the w3's and the w6's. w6's and w7's are competition subs. This one w7 sounds like my previous two 12" sub JL w6's when you turn it up, but a lot cleaner hard hitting sub compared to 12" subs.

What kind of head unit are you using? I am going to use a loc for this. Wondering how it sounds with stock hu.

I'm not using an aftermarket HU in my BMW. I'm using the stock Logic7 and have never installed this sub and amp into my car. I had it previously in my Toyota Tacoma which I did utilize the stock HU. It sounded very good, but would of sounded 10x better with a nice aftermarket HU.

The best I'll do is $400 for both pieces, but you'll have to pay your own shipping charges. Shipping will run you close to $115 - $125 with the enclosure. The enclosure is very heavy. Otherwise just for the sub and amp I'm pretty firm on $455 shipped.

I talked to my local tuner store and told them i was looking for enclosure. They asked me what setup i was getting and i told them 10w7 with 500 they said that is under powered. They prefer 1000. So i'm not sure.

To be honest I think your audio source may be wrong. A 1000/1 is a bit too much power for this sub. The RMS for a 10" w7 is between 250 - 750 watts. 500 is right smack in the middle and I have never thought once that my sub was ever under powered. Some places will try to sell you anything.

The range of RMS power the speaker requires to operate safely and properly. RMS Power Handling refers to the amount of power a speaker can handle on a continuous basis.

depends... if your interested in the sub then separate. If your interested in the amp only then package. Reason being is because I can get rid of this amp a lot easier then the sub. don't know why either their both great!
