Fix worn out steering wheel?

Anybody know how I can fix the leather to make it match the whole steering wheel?, it feels nice but the look is absolutely disgusting. It is on the top sides and the front portion of the wheel.

Edit: The coating is coming off, the leather is intact
Edit2: I bought a leather dye kit from leather tech and I'll let y'all know how it looks after

Is the leather wearing off at the touch points? Or is it just the coating wearing off but the leather is intact? The pic isn’t very clear.

The coating is coming off, so you won't be able to clean it. Have it recovered.

How do I get it recovered?? I already tried cleaning it and then putting leather conditioner and it made it smoother but no luck with the faded look

It's the coating wearing off, the leather is all in tact. It just seems like the wheel has been brushed and handled pretty hard. Got it off eBay to install a heated steering

Search for a steering wheel restorer

I just checked my bmw club magazine and didn’t see one listed, but check Mercedes Benz club online or Hemings.

Royal Steering Wheel in the UK. Google their site for pix.

They will send a beautiful newly recovered custom wheel. After install, send back your core.

Cheers

That might help. I’ve heard good things about it. But use it at your own risk. If it doesn’t work, don’t blame me. I personally have no experience with it.

I have some good news for you. BMW covers this situation and replaces the steering wheel. I am attaching the PuMA (internal BMW system) file for this situation to this post. There is also a file for seat leathers as well if anyone needs it. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

He bought the wheel on eBay. BMW isn't going to cover something that's been taken off another car lol

Hey but if it's only the coating coming off isn't there a way to clear that and just have true leather under. If you then keep the leather maintained with conditioner it should stay nice.

The surface of mine was peeling under CPO back in 2016 and they wouldn't replace it. Shoot, I wish I knew about this.

I tried a leather repair kit for my E46 and it wasn't a great solution so I bought an M Sport wheel and sold the old wheel to recoup something. After that, I would suggest doing the same or a vendor like Colby Wheels and sending your wheel as a core.
