Wobble

Hi,

On my way home the other day I accelerated hard and then all of a sudden the car started to wobble really bad, have checked the wheel nuts and they are all tight.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks, Marcus

Side to side like its slipping? First off make sure one of your tires aren't bold, if one is near 1.6mm you'll have one tyre gripping and the other trying to slide out and Traction Control will be trying to keep it relatively straight.

The other culprits will be suspension related, springs, shocks will definitely be one to check (push down hard on one corner at a time, it should bounce once if it bounces a few times it's knackered)

Other cultists are the arms, if you raise the rear wheel grab it with both hands and see if there's any play side to side, in and out (grab alloy at 3 and 9 then 12 and 6)

Hi,

I have checked the tyres and they are all good, will check the suspension and arms tomorrow.

Thank you so much and hope I can find the problem.

Brilliant, if you're not too sure tomorrow take pictures or videos and upload them to YouTube as we may be able to spot something if you don't manage to.

Is the wobble constant, or only happens in certain situations?

Could be a driveshaft giubo/flex disc, among other things...

Well after a little bit of driving it then starts and it’s then constant, can’t see any issues underneath......may have to take to a garage as don’t have much space where I park etc
