Question Where are speed cameras on NAV 2008-01 DVD?

Hi,

I have the NAV 2008-01 DVD but I can't seem to find the speed cameras POI? Where can I find them?

Tx, Harry

Reading through the posts on this forum I thought that the latest navigation DVD (2008) contained the speed cameras factory wise.
If I'm correct this is not the case and I should create my own DVD copy and add the POI's myself?
Can anyone confirm this?

Is this an obvious issue I should find somewhere myself or is there no-one who can answer my question?

At least, North America version doesn't include speed camera as yet.

Neither does the European version, at least not the original disc from BMW. Hacked versions can be found online, including instructions on how to do it yourself.

I am not expecting BMW to add this themselves

Tx for your replies. I've found the info in the 2008 NAV topic. I've downloaded a DVD iso which should contain the cameras. Will try burning and see if it works.

doubt it.
The torrent is the stock 2008.1 nav disk.
It needs to be "molested" after the download to add the cams.

Haven't tried yet cause the shops here were closed because of public holidays. I've found the download here: http://www.mininova.org/tor/1056921

Will try this today. I already found out that the default language is incorrectly set to spanish on this disc.

DVD works navigating but when selecting POI the screen shows 'Wait...' and remains there. I can hear the DVD sometimes but this doesn't seem to work.

You need to burn the disc at a slow speed, and it seems DVD+R works better then DVD-R.

I created my own version with the POI files from SCDB, works fine.

I used a Sony DVD+R at 2x. Should be ok. As I've mentioned the DVD works ok, only when selecting a location for POI it seems as if it's hanging.
I'll try building my own DVD if I find the time.

Well it doesn't work fine in my case.
When selecting location to view information it remains on a Wait screen. If I replace the DVD with the original BMW version it displays the POI's instantly, so there's definitively something wrong. Maybe the DVD player of my car prefers DVD-R?

Strange. I have tried both DVD-R and DVD+R and although I did not benchmark it it certainly seemed the system was quicker with DVD+R. But certainly it is quickest with the original DVD.
