turbo shaft snapped
My 3.0 M57n2 stopped making boost the other day. I was forcing a DPF regen and all of a sudden it had no power.
I popped the inlet hose off and could feel the turbo wasn't spinning properly. After taking it apart, its obvious the shaft has snapped. I'm trying to work out the cause.. It looks like the bearing has been leaking oil and not performing properly for a while. This caused the shaft to wear and ultimately break? ![]() Last edited by nick9one1; 04-21-2020 at 09:30 AM.. |

Yes! well.. it was.
It was reading 130mbar at idle - car was very slow. Was struggling to get it to regen, so removed it and did the pressure washer trick. After refitting it was down to 50mbar. Managed to regen and then down to 12mbar. I guess the damage had already been done! |
