2013 335is 6MT 65k miles rattling noise

Hey Guys,

Im sure this has been answered but I just got home from a drive and noticed a strange rattling noise. I’ve been searching around and asked a mechanic friend for his input who said it sounds like a wastegate flap. This is my first turbo car so this is all fairly new to me. MHD Stage 2+ FBO. App shows no error codes. Can gladly provide more info when its morning. I’ve seen all the helpful comments and people in these forums so just trying to see if I can get any input.

Appreciate any help guys

Is it coming from the engine?

Hmm I'm not sure my car makes strange noises too but so far it's been nothing I've had to worry about I think these are just noisy cars

This was just something that just popped up tonight. Before this I had a squeaking noise from the serpentine belt, which was caused by oil dripping onto it from OFHG which I replaced about a couple weeks ago. Now this noise develops and I wont be able to sleep cause of my ocd LOL.

Im going to take it to my mechanic friend in a week when he isnt backed up so he can properly check it out.

Besides that car has been amazing in terms of performance. Love the bov noises and dci. Some noises arent bad

Check the bracket that holds your exhaust (attached to your trans). There is a bolt on the top that can come loose and it makes that exact sound.

Also, check the clearance on your DPs and makes sure they are not contacting your frame.

Appreciate the tip. Ill check that out tomorrow morning. I did notice when I put the catless downpipes about 6 months ago, when turning full right at low speeds it makes a metal on metal rubbing noise. Im hoping thats the case. Will update if it fixes that.

Thank you!!
