Devil Patrick has to raise money somehow to pay for his budget deficit. Last year the staties wrote $600,000 in tickets on the pike, this year the "goal" is $1.8mil. They are only tripling it, how nice of them. I see them sneaking up on people from the rear in unmarked vehicles. Speed traps work too, but I guess the sneak-ups hold up better in court.

Watch out for those unmarked mustangs and chargers. I've seen them scorching down the passing lane with the blues flashing from the grill a few times now.

I'm just glad I wasn't the poor sucker in front of them.

To me, it makes little sense to tax people in this way, its an extremely inefficient way to collect a tax(hidden or not), much like tolls, there are expenses associated. It makes even less sense that Patrick allows this speeding ticket quota to hit the newspapers. Duh! He is so clueless. What an inept pol. He didn't have the clout to push through the casino vote, so this is his fallback plan? Now, only a few weeks later, and Dimasi looks like he might get booted as speaker of the house and Patrick did not recognise this? Maybe delay the vote until his main road block gets punted? Hello, dufus, anybody home? I wonder why we get such horrible candidates for public offices, when the payoff seems pretty good, Patrick got a 1.3mil advance on his autobiography as if anyone cares and would buy the book. You would think we could attract some sharper people for that kind of loot. {end of rant}

Good Rant.

Too bad we didn't get Kerry Healey. She would have been much better in the corner office.
