Petition to Extend European Delivery for BMW NA

After suggesting it on the original thread regarding The END of European Delivery here: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1717729

I decided to start a new Thread to create a petition asking BMW NA to extend the program until the end of 2021.

Like many others on this community, ED was on my bucket list and if it wasn't for COVID I was going to do it later this year.

Yesterday, 05/05/2020 BMW NA announced that the will phase out this program starting MAY 18, leaving us no time for a last chance. The idea is to ask for an extension to show BMW how many of us are still interested in the program. If in this extra year we can prove that more than 500 people will participate in the program they might even reconsider their position and keep it for a little longer.

This is my first time working an a petition like this so everyone is welcome to suggest best format or other ideas.

I know this is a long shot to actually get an extension but we can at least try and show our love for the brand!

Who is in?

I think there's a website dedicated to petitions. Just between the BMWCCA and other BMW owners we should be able to amass a lot of signatures

I think it is too early for this action. You would have a better chance after the epidemic is over.

You are right. Just wanted to start planning on it now that we are hot from the news.

Really disappointed this service is going away. I would sign petition for what it's worth.

I am in. 6 euro deliveries, the first two done not because of the Welt glamor, but just because of the passion for the brand, and the experience of driving the car in Europe.

I have inspired others to the euro delivery through my posts, and advised others on planning details. I have been a passionate advocate for the brand for the last 20 years. Euro delivery was the heart and soul of the whole experience.

I would like to do an ED on an M2CS next year, so if anyone at BMW is reading this, please extend the program a little longer.

I think a petition to reinstate ED program is a good idea. At least BMW will get additional data points about its popularity.

From BMW quarterly earning report released on May 6, 2020 (fresh off the press):

https://www.forbes.com/sites/neilwin.../#1b5c9e81468c

"In March, BMW said it expected profits to maybe halve in 2020, as the impact of the coronavirus hits sales, economies and consumer confidence, with the automotive EBIT profit dropping to between 2% and 4%."

"The highest negative impact is expected in the second quarter of 2020".

In the view of 50% reduction in 2020 profits, it's unlikely BMW will reinstate ED program any time soon.

I am just as disappointed in the rollback of ED program. Had plans for ED twice now and had to cancel due to the usual assortment of scheduling difficulties.

Yet - BMW runs a business ...

Chances are they could bring it back. Give it a year before doing a petition.

Beautiful shots! Makes me jealous! I'm debating if we should start a petition now or wait next year like others have said. I'll keep you posted.

Please do. I want to drive Spa again. And Barcelona. And the hungaroring, and the Red Bull ring. So lots of things to do 😁
