Speed Element 1701 Rogers Ave, Ste 10, San Jose, CA 95122 Or Fast Lane European 350 Kiely Blvd, Ste F2, San Jose, CA 95129 As far as quality they are both amazing, and around the same price. I go to both depending on what service I need. |

OP, if you're in the East Bay I recommend Performance Technic in Pleasanton. If you're in the South Bay I recommend SpeedElement in San Jose.

Hey all, bringing this post back from the dead. I don't mind driving around the bay if the service is worth it, I'd like to have one shop familiar with me and my car so I don't have to go a million different places. I used to live in Marin and always heard good things about Bill Arnold but I've never been there. Is there anyone who specializes on E9x's around? From what I know, most of the shops in San Jose and the North Bay specialize on older models (E36, E46, etc.) It's been some time, I just want to get my car running properly again. I have an E92 with an N51 engine (2009 328i Coupe). I'm pretty comfortable with my car and I can do most things if I have the DIY. However, I need to do the valve cover because my PCV is blown, the valvetronic is a bit scary since I've never done it before. I may still end up doing it on my own, but it would be great to have a specialist in my back pocket. Any recommendations? Seems like Performance Technic is the go to...

Performance Dynamic in Santa Clara...Greg’s a former tech at Dinan and BMW who’s very knowledgeable, has high attention to detail and is passionate about his work/the car community. I wouldn’t let anyone else touch my car.

If you are under 140kmiles and your car is not older than 15 years, you can get that valve cover replaced under SULEV warranty. Applies only to n51 engines. Had my valve cover replaced this way by dealer.

Thanks fastboaster! I actually knew this already and my car has been in for a couple of SULEV things over the years, but they never needed to replace the VCG or VC. I've owned my car since 2012 so I even called my regular SA to ask if there was a goodwill program since my car has been in so many times, but he said there wasn't. I have 160k on it now and I plan on driving it at least another 160k at minimum! I think the best thing I can do for my car is to keep it as far away from the stealership as possible!
