Muffler delete too loud for my liking. Exhaust options?

I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I haven't seen many people talk about more custom options, so I thought I'd ask.

So I've had a muffler delete for a while on my e92 n54 and have been pretty happy with the sound. I just installed a vrsf catless downpipe today and while I like the turbo sounds and the pops I get, the volume is just too much and the the drone is getting bad. I have a LTMW quad diffuser so my muffler delete goes to quad tips currently. As far as options go, I know the Remus system is supposed to be pretty good, but it's quite pricey.

I was thinking about just having a universal performance muffler or something welded in to my existing exhaust or maybe even an old OEM muffler with the PE mod and my quad tips.

So I guess my question is will I regret it if I don't go Remus? If I go for the custom route, does anyone have muffler recommendations? Or has anyone tried the PE mod on an OEM muffler with quad tips? Or will that even work given the spacing of the quad diffuser?

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thank you!

I’m getting Vibrant 1792s on my 335i in place of the mufflers soon. Also running catless Downpipes and a muffler delete at the moment, with the resonators added in it gives it a very deep/much less raspy sound.

If you don’t wanna go with resonators, going with a universal muffler is a great and cheap option, just go with a known brand like flowmaster, borla, etc.

This is Catless Downpipes and Resonators in place of mufflers like I’m getting, however it also has Secondary cats removed, imo it sounds amazing

I didn't think about a resonator in it's place! I mostly want to get rid of some of the drone. are you getting much of that with this setup?

I’m pretty sure resonators will not reduce drone as much as most people would like. I don’t mind drone too much, but if you want to eliminate drone as much as possible with still a good sound, go with performance mufflers. I’ll start a threat on my new exhaust once I get those resonators in!

I run the Corsa cat back exhaust with VRSF catless downpipes. The corsa is perfect at having no drone on the highway. Exhaust note is deeper low end but screams above 3500. Has a bit of rasp after installing the dp's but its not bad at all.
