If that's the case then your wiring isn't right. I did that last year when I first installed them and found that a connector wasn't crimped all the way.

I've exact same problem, I think the problem could be the LED's do not provide enough resistance and this causes a bulb out warning.Maybe this could this be fixed by adding some capacitors e.t.c ?

Could you attach a small bulb on the inside that should provide the resistance car is looking for and get rid of the error ? so ordinary bulb inside and LED outside ?

I ended up taking them out before trying one of the stronger resistors. JLevi had mentioned they had tried other resistors, but still experienced the same problem. Who knows ........ |

Hi there,
I've just been reading of the difficulty people are having with error codes after installing LEDs to replace bulbs in various positions on the car. The ballast resistors supplied with these kits are to fool the ECU into thinking that the bulb is still in ciruit, as the LEDs take a lot less current than a conventional bulb. It's possible that a bulbs resistance changes when the filament gets hot, and that the ECU expects this. Just a thought, but has anybody tried leaving the ballast resistor out and just using a bulb of the correct type for the ballast. It could be tucked away out of sight somewhere, making sure that it wasn't near anything where heat was an issue, as bulbs can get hot! |
