335I Transmission Error Codes

I have a 2007 335i twin turbo N54 Convertible Auto. It has 272,000 mikes on her. I have a LIMP MODE problem. It shows P0706 Transmission Range Selector and recently on the Carly app, shows 005088 Transmission Range Sensor.

Did the broken wire check and found none.

Here is the corker.
Took it to my favorite Indy shop. No codes except for TRS. Free recall at BMW dealer in NH. "Oh' we will do a complimentary code check for you".
1. ELECTRONIC THERMOSTAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. $650.00
2. 02 SENSORS ARE INSTALLED BACKWARDS. $1800.00
3. NO TRS CODES p0706 OR 005008
THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR TRS IS YOUR THERMOSTAT.

Took it back to a very reputable Indy since I don't trust BMW Service and the same code. TRS
02 sensors are not plugged in backwards and have individual notches to prevent this.
Thermostat and Temp is perfect. No codes stored or present. 1 month later, with no code clearing, INDY says TPS. They told me again its the Transmission Range Selector.
INDY knows I am capable of my own work and charged me a coffee.

These are my recent steps.
1. Transmission Fluid and Filter change it INDY
2. Looked for broken wires in shifter found none.
3. Replaced shifter anyway, $45.00 90K Clean wires
4. Replaced Clock Spring due to broken ribbon cable after I replaced Steering Rack. I think it was my fault.
5. I had to remove everything again and cleaned SAS Sensor while apart due to new DCT error.
6. Completed a test drive.
7. Limp mode

So here is the synopsis.
Limp Mode sometimes like clockwork. other times, it just happens. Usually when can gets warm. both the BMW scan tool (I can't afford) Shows trs
Carly which we all can afford, show Transmission Range Sensor (TRS).

TRANSMISISON RANGE SELECTOR
Today sitting not running while using my new Foxwell it popped the code limp mode. It was not even running

Can someone help me.

Anybody know where the 335i neutral safety switch goes. It’s also the range selector.

Found it, it’s on the mechtronics. Swapped it with used one from a newer 335i and it’s fixed.

By the way, no programming necessary. Nada, zip, none, negative. Period.

Plug and play.
