Anyone doing their own fireworks at home this year?

There was a time when I loved to blow stuff up for the 4th. Never did get into mortors, but . . .

Now that I have seen for the last 7 years my dog COWER in fear, and being unable to do anything to soothe her, or explain there is no real threat to her well-being, I've changed. And the irony of it all is that 4th is her birthday.

They were still setting off huge mortars until almost 1 am, when many including myself had to work the next day.

Yea that is just rude! We start at dark and touch off about $3000 worth in about 25min and then we are done other than drinking and listening to music. We compile money as a neighborhood.

Mortars become fun when you take 4 tubes and screw them into a piece of plywood, now do that 2 more times. Zip tie 4 mortar fuses at the tip, enlist two buddies to run the other two boards and launch 12 mortars at the time. Rinse and repeat all through the show. It's awesome!

Same here...our dog's BD is the 4th. He will be 3 this year. I just recently posted about his issues in the pet thread.

I hated to be that guy, but I finally called the police. When I called she said, "Yeah, we have received a ton of complains in your neighborhood, we have two units on the way."

A few minutes later everything stopped.

We have the aptly named "Boom City" on the Indian reservation in our area. Still trying to decide if I should get some but this thread is making me want them more and more. Maybe a giant belt of firecrackers, some mortars and really big brick finishers.

All my neighbors are doing them every night. It's awesome. Some of them are rather big.
