+1...bring it back to dealer if CBU under warranty, unless this was private part purchase. If not CBU, run some hot shots diesel extreme and after a tankful, reset all adaptations, especially increment wheel.

I was in the midst of pulling the manifold yesterday but ran out of time before work.
So my update: I took the manifold off and yes clearly the car was short drives to work as miles are low and it's a very very clean car. The carbon buildup is pretty significant. My friend found the most updated SI today also which is SI B14-04-14 He says it states for my codes which are as follows: 4592 #4 smooth running controller 4593 #2 smooth running controller 4AE6 DDE Zero Quantity adaptation cyl 2 injector It says and I'll abbreviate: Do NOT replace injectors, reprogram (update DDE) after CBU cleaning and then reset adaptation for crakshaft increment wheel. So my game plan is as follows: I found AARodriguez's You Tube channel which helped me a lot taking everything apart (hardest part is the electrical clips)! So I ordered my parts from him. I'm sending my intake out to him for his ultrasonic cleaning. When I recieve it back I'm installing swirl flap delete. In the meantime I'll tow my car to a a good BMW Tuner shop for walnut blasting. Then I will pick the car up, put it back together with the EGR Race pipe and EGR cooler delete, and bring back to tuner to have the DDE updated, increment wheel adaptations reset and tuned. The only thing I'm not sure of is should I put it back together stock first (without EGR deletes) then bring for update since I was throwing SES. I'd like to save myself the extra work but I do know it's not a good idea generally to mod before fixing.... The shop I choose may help with that decision. I'm also going to do thermostat, CCV tube, vacuum hoses, belts and Fluidampr while it's apart. Anything else I should do? |
