Why not record the tapes onto your computer and convert them to MP3 format and/or write them to a CD? You can run the line-out (headphone, speaker, etc) port on the cassette player into your sound card's line-in jack and play the songs back without interference.
I remember my dad doing that with a regular B&O stereo stack over 10 years ago, when he converted his entire cassette collection into a digital format. |

Actually used for unattended off air recording of specific FM programs and then playback to/from work. Much easier than any alternative. |
