Stage 1 - JB4 advice

I'm looking at upgrading to a Stage 1 Turbo & adding a JB4 using their backend flash to my already existing MHD stage 2+. I have the gauge package from MHD.

There's a way of adjusting the boost tables in JB4 to meet the needs of a hybrid turbo.

I'm wondering from those of you who have Both JB4 & MHD w/ hybrid turbos what are your experiences & thoughts?

Also, do you have the JB4 phone add on? Is it worth the $140.00? What advantages does the phone app have?

Also, my N54 has 174,000 miles on it. I have meticulously maintained it. Ex- I can generate up to 19.6# of boost on OEM Original turbos w/ 174,000 miles on them. Crazy thought.... however, when I do this that, she smokes on decelerations for a day or two . I'm pretty sure the OEM's are on their way out.

Do you think the engine is too old to upgrade the turbos & map sensor in the charge pipe up run say 22-3# of boost on stage 1 turbos?

Please Advise....

I can't answer your jb4 questions, but to address your mileage query, I don't think your mileage is too high to add hybrid turbos. I know from your posts on here how meticulously you maintain your car. Condition over mileage any day. The bottom end of the engine won't care. And let's be realistic, coming from a fellow 2007 model owner, the car isn't worth much anyway, so if it blows up after putting power to it you could probably buy a whole other e90 in good running condition for the cost of replacing the engine after labor. It makes me kind of sick as well as ecstatic when I think about how cheap these cars are and how much potential they have.

I have 124k miles on mine, meticulously maintained by my own wrench. I'm FBO right now, and when I park it for the coming winter it will get the final maintenance items prior to going to hybrid turbos (LPFP, valve cover gasket, RB's PCV kit, and OCC). And because I'm a cheap ass I will be getting the Ebay turbos.

On my car I had DAW stage 2+ turbos and ran the hybrid turbo MHD BEF and set boost by RPM through JB4. My car ran better with MHD e85 BEF map imo.

Tuning hybrids with a JB4 is stupid easy. Just follow the setup directions, use the hybrid flash, and you're 90% of the way there. Post up a JB4 log for free tuning advice to sort out the rest.
