Staggered wheel options: 335xi coupe sport

I am looking at possibly moving to a staggered setup, and was reading this page here: https://support.apexraceparts.com/hc...-Fitment-Guide and then my head started to hurt, so I just want to ask... does anybody run 18x8 ET40 fronts or does that require spacers for clearance (assuming a moderate tire profile like 40%)?

Assume for the moment it's stock springs, but that also in the near future I'm probably going to replace the suspension, maybe with with PSS9 based on positive posts I've seen here, but haven't come to a decision on that yet.
