Question about upgrading to HIFI audio system

I have a 2007 Canadian 323i with base audio (no tweeters) and no amps. I do have prewiring where the amp supposed to go

(picture in the links)

recently salvaged a pair of logic midrange speakers, I installed them where the old front mid ranges go and also installed tweeters along with them

if I were to buy a hifi amplifier (65126960925 or similar), do I need to have additional wiring installed or do I just need to plug the amp in and code the head unit from base to hifi?

there was not prewiring for audio system in e9x cars
this wiring is for cd-changes, it is contain power and MOST bus junction.
So you have to wire 6 channels from this location and then bring 4 channel from headunit
if you want something simple you need to search for small amp with cut-in harness between headunit and wiring from headunit to speakers and put it under dashboard

That's the cdc changer wire in the picture.
Best to get a Technic Harness that fits your needs.
He has three different types (for the base system) depending on what degree
you want to modify it.

Don't buy a Hi Fi amp it sucks.
The BMW audio system's are not very good even the better
ones.

Just curious, as I was in the same boat (looking at an LCI E92 with base audio) but would you be open to getting a new set of speakers instead of worrying about wiring an amp?

I saw this, and I saw some pretty decent reviews as well. Of course having an amplifier is always a good thing, but these speakers on their own might be a good upgrade.

Changing the speakers in a base system only produces
a weak placebo effect and may be worse.

You have to be aware of the details.
As described in the following link.

Garage List
2008 BMW M3  [8.00]
2007 BMW 323i  [8.50]
For reference, I started with base too (also 07 Canadian 323), and after learning from here (major props to Ctuna as well as others) knew that I had to gut the whole thing.

The best thing to do is find a decent e90 drop in 3-way kit (I used audio system, but jenhert and others make also), and source a suitable amp.

There's no one size fits all, you can source speaker separates (just pay attention to mounting depth and dimensions!), decide to keep or kill rear speakers, decide to run passive or active crossovers (directly impacts how many channels your amp(s) need), etc.

But simplest would be 3-way drop in kit (tweeter sails are surprisingly affordable at the dealer, maranello bmw offers parts discount to members of a different Canadian based forum - won't mention names here in case it's not allowed), and get a decent 6-ch amp.

If you want to add a dedicated sub in the trunk, best to consider a separate mono amp for that.

Good luck!

Ali-323i I was lucky enough to find a full logic 7 wiring harness from a E90 BMW M3 on ebay. I really wanted to keep things OEM and will attempt to fit that harness into the car, along in that harness contains wiring for mulf and tcu. I figured I'm planning to do those upgrades anyways.
