New rims scratched already!

Hey guys,

I was cleaning my new rims and I got hairline scratches all over the polished lip...

How do I get those off and what do you guys recommend?

I am also planning to re-wax my entire car with a buffing tool, whats good? I have a TiAg.

Well it looks like the clear coat on the lip has many hairline scratches. I used a soft brush to lightly brush the lip with some rim cleaner. After a rinse I noticed the brush gave tiny hairline marks...

If it is polished and not clear coated I recommend mother's aluminum and mag polish to take out the minor scratches. However polished aluminum is tough to keep scratch free so you'll probably end up doing this every few weeks if you want them perfect. I recommend washing your wheels weekly and sealing them after polishing so you don't have to get too aggressive when removing the brake dust which will prevent scratching them.

Gotcha, any recommendation on what type of cloth I should be using?
Most of the time I just use my pressure washer to clean my rims, they turn out really shiny, but when you look up close you can see the hairline scratches.

You should use all MF towels.

Like LRG said, microfiber, however from your last post it seems as if you have a clear coat on your rims? If so then you don't want to use the mothers polish but regular paint polish.

I think it's the clear coat that got hairline scratches on it.
