2007 335i LPFP Upgrade questions
I am about to install the last supporting mod (New HPFP), before installing full bolt ons with some extra goodies. I can be looking to push around 550 whp. I have been debating on installing a stage 2 bucketless Low pressure fuel pump, but have seen mostly that it helps alot when you start running ethanol fuels. Would it be worth the 400+ dollar price tag if I am staying on pump fuel?
2007 335i N54 engine Thanks! |

If you don't mind a bucketless setup, there's no compelling reason not to just swap a Walbro 450 into a slightly modified stock bucket. There are several DIY's on this and it can be done for around $150.

Look at this video Look at his notes https://bmw135iblog.wordpress.com/20...-pump-upgrade/ Watch this 6-7 part mini series. Vehicular DIY's version can be done w/ out hacking up the bucket. You just need a smaller sock filter as seen in the boost concept videos Walbro 400-1168 Installation Kit for F90000267 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QQCP92Z..._g9DnFb3G9YFPB In my mind, the goal is replicate what boost concepts does for $150.00. It can be done. |

Yep....just did the same stage 2 Walbro 450 DIY LPFP on my car a few weeks ago. The pump cost me around $100, and the special BMS 90deg Walbro fitting was $35. It was a super easy install.....and that 450 pump works great! I hold 80psi of LPFP pressure during the entire pull.....before with the old pump it was getting down under 50psi.

Just wondering why you would replace the HPFP before the LPFP? I'm assuming that if you are aiming for 550hp...you are running something other than stock as far as the turbo(s) goes? |
