2EF7 code, fan running loud and always on, new tstat and water pump,

I have a 2EF7 code no CEL, Carly says ":misfire: injection shutdown / Map controlled thermostat / Map thermostat control : short circuit to positive / engine misfire : injection shutdown.

The Tstat and water pump were replaced last year by my Indy. And my Indy said he fixed a wire last time I went. Code is still there, is this something easy to tackle like some accessible wire nothing else to remove and no coolant drainage.

I notice since that last time to Indy, the fan tends to be really loud and seems to be always on. I can still drive my 45 mins commute no problem but the oil can reach half mark when home.

Were you able to solve it? I have a similar issue - radiator fan goes full speed within 5 mins of driving but temperature never exceeds 100C. It's throwing a 2EF7 thermostat code but I want to make sure it's not something else before I go in and switch it out.

The wiring to the connector for the Tstat can definitely get damaged/even broken. I have seen a few cars where the wire was basically about to break off at the end of the connector from heat damage and wear and tear. I'd check the wiring first and make sure its all fine, you can get to it with the rad fan removed.

That makes sense! All the symptoms point towards an electrical issue. Thanks, I'll be checking the connector and the wiring asap.
