MHD wifi dongle

So i just received my wifi dongle for MHD. I already have my car tuned and have been using the cable until now and my galaxy tablet. So i’ve set up my iphone and that all is working well.
I was gonna flash from V9 maps to V7 as i’ve heard the older maps are more powerful and wanted to try myself.
However when i go to change maps it says “full write 20min” vs the 2min write that it’s been saying on my tablet since i tuned the car.
Is this just a flaw in the system or would it indeed try to write the entire map? I dont want to try without my car hooked up to a battery tender just in case.

I think it always says 20min....even if it only takes 2min.

Does the MHD WiFi dongle work with XHP and Protool as well?

It says 20 but the time will adjust as soon as you start it. The dongle is faster than a cable. I find it takes just over 1 Minute to flash so I wouldn’t worry about a battery charger If you already have MHD installed. I also went back from V9 to V7 and my car runs much better.
Yes it also works Xhp.
Don’t leave the mhd dongle plugged in 24/7. It has a little light on it that never turns off. It will slowly drain your battery.

Thanks for the input. I swore it said 2min write before but maybe i remember it wrong or it was from before the update.
Good to hear V7 runs better too. I havent really had any issues. Just hoping for a bit faster car lol. Going from V8 to V9 was a noticeable difference.

As of right now Xdelete is broken with the MHD adapter. Im not sure if xHP is broken right now. It used to work, latest update broke it. Contacted them on FB and they said they were gonna push a update to fix it "next week".... 2 months ago

so xdelete only works by cable right now

Not sure if it’s faster, it just feels nicer for some reason. The boost is smoother and predictable and I found my car idled a lot better. I think V9 was proven to be ever so slightly faster. (You would need some timing gear to actually prove this). V9 also seemed a bit different In D mode with XHP. It held each gear a little longer which I liked. However I found the boost delivery kinda all over the place.
V3 of Xhp is much better if you are using that. DS mode was a big improvement over V2.

I’m 6mt so XHP or anything doesnt affect me.

Another question though. With it connected via wifi my phone doesnt seem to use my LTE service so streaming music or doing anything while connected doesnt seem to work for me. Is there any solution to this? Using an iphone 11

What about Protool?

I don't want to keep switching different dongles for each app, or wire.

In terms if speed V9 should be faster, as it has slightly higher boost and timing, that's what MHD said.

But I also found v7.1 runs better, feels more aggressive and snappy.

Was waiting for XHP to update early 2007 TCUs for V3 maps, but I don't know if its gonna happen anymore after conflicting replies.

On the MHD page it says it should work for pro-tool. Any OBD adapter should work. I have never had the need to use pro-tool so I haven't tested it.. Either way you cant leave the dongle plugged in 24/7.

Ok thanks. I was looking to go wireless. Having the cable dangling from OBD2 port is annoying.

I'm assuming the WiFi adapter flashes faster than the cable?

I think a good cable and the wifi adapter flash at the same speed.
