Joyriide Detailed: Range Rover

Car needed a cleanup besides the drive through washes. This is a daily driver so it gets beaten. The front wheels were clouded (some noob not using the right chemicals), but besides that, everything else came back to life. Paint needs exfoliating to bring back gloss and get rid of those ugly ugly swirl marks we all hate, although this silver hides them well under most lighting conditions. Interior was crumby and the leather needed treatment so the detail went as follows:

Wheels, Tires, Wheel Arches, and Engine bay.
Zep All Purpose Cleaner
Menzerna Wheel and Tire cleaner
Claymagic
Zaino CS
CD-2 Engine Detailer
Z16
Poorboys BnB

Exterior
NXT Wash
Claymagic Blue
Meguiars #83 via white polishing pad @ 1000-1500 rpms
Menzerna po106ff via grey finishing pad @ 1200 rpms
Meguiars #21 v2
Collinite Insulator
Clearkote Vanilla Moose Hand Glaze (on glass)

Interior
Zaino Z9
Zaino Z10
Optimum Instant Detailer (interior glass)

Time Spent: 10:15am-6:30pm

BEFORE

During

Afters

and a little more.....

I had to pick and choose as almsot every pic I took from every angle looked awesome. This color came out great.

You know I'm detailing when you see my garage open so feel free to drop by and say wassup. How are your wheels doing? Any curb rash on those lips?

I've maintained the status quo, no rash. When you know every inch of your car and know all it's flaws you tend to be veeeery careful.

I'll be honest, the roof to a lot out of me. I used PO106ff finishing pad on it (not trying to go perfect on it, but still polish it), and after 10 or so 20'x20' sections I was finally able to fall over say I completed it. Its like a different car up there. I need some bungee cords next time, it was even hard taping off the little stubby antenna.

WOW, great job.

I wonder how you decide "what to use"... what sealer, what polisher, etc...

Wow, great work! Not much else to say.

Is that a touch screen LCD? It looks like it was pretty grungy. What did you use on it?

Whatever I'm feeling froggy for really. In this detail, I attempted to use
#21 v2 as my LSP, but I wasn't happy with the final look so I topped it with Collinite.

I generally will use Zaino Sealants on customer vehicles. As for polishers, I have a PC, Flex, Makita, Dewalt, and a new Metabo. I always reach for my makita. I learned using the Makita 9227c so my positioning and hand grip has gotten used to it.

I actually think the wheels match the car quite well.

The paint didn't need any extra passes of #83 so I'd say it was fairly normal.

Personally I think the stock 20"s in that model look the best. And on the newer ones the new 22"s look great as well.

But thats not the point. Great work bro! Im working on the Zymol sponges too. Give me a week and I should get a box for free.
