E92 335i Freon Amount

I have been calling around to find a direct answer to this but everyone has different info. I called my local BMW service advisor and they told me 1.1lbs(17.6oz). I called another indie German repair specialists and they said 1.2-1.3lbs(19.2-20.8oz). The Bentley manual states 20.8oz +/- .4 oz. I do not have the sticker under my hood hence why I am coming here for some guidance. My father has E90 328i which blows stupid cold even in AZ but his sticker is missing also. Is the 335i just cursed to be hotter cause the twins produce more heat in the engine bay? Also I have a thought that my expansion valve may be the cause of my headache, as it was bought of partsgeek from a company called "GPD".

The TIS reference strangely points to F-series capacities, which is 500g +/- 10g. Curious as to why you are wondering, though. Do you actually have an AC vacuum system to charge a dry system? If you are just refilling a system that didn't go dry, you wouldn't need the quantity for the charge.

I do have the pump to do so, I just dont know the proper amount. AC specialists were telling me to go off weight and not pressures. The system already has PAG oil.

Well then, I'd go with the 500g in the TIS which is basically what you've already been given. Or go slightly under and top it off with a standard charge after you've filled it.

Also went on TIS and found this, 590G is 20.81~oz but there is also 620G 21.86~oz. Most of them seem to point to 20.8, so would this be the proper amount?

You didn't say what your build date was, so go with whichever applies to you. That being said, any of the quantities will be fine. They are all in the same basic range and you will have to adjust it for the proper pressure after you backfill the system. It's easier to add refrigerant than it is to take it off so I would err on the low side. Good luck!

I didn't mention it earlier , but more important then the refrigerant quantity is the oil quantity since it is not compressible and will have a set value. It is also listed in TIS.

So I checked my build date is 11/09. 590G +/- 10 is for me. 20.81-21,16Oz.
