My experience at WAGNER BMW, Shrewsbury,MA

CA name: Kevin Nugyen
Finance Manager: Brian Cho

This is my story for my lease deal on a 2008 328XI coupe montego blue

The MSRP on car with all the options I wanted was $42,550. We agreed on the price of $40,000 which was around 500 over invoice which seemed to be pretty decent.
I wanted to trade in my 2004 Toyota Corolla which had a trade in value of around $9000 according to KBB but the dealer was willing to take it for 7500 for a 49K price on the new car. But he mentioned that i could sell it on my own which I did. I sold my car privately for $9700.
Since I ordered my car and i had to sell my car early I had to go through rentals and borrowing my friends car but i was prepared for that.
I asked for loaner from the dealership but they denied it completly and said i could get it only when I gave my car for servicing. Anyway, it wasnt a big deal.

Also, we agreed on a MF of 0.0020 which was a 0.005 mark up from the dealer which was fine by me because i was getting a good deal on the car for 15K for 3 years.

I travel a lot for work so I was in Brazil when I actually gave a deposit on my car and placed the order, this was I think March 31st.

Last Saturday when I went to the dealership to see my car which had arrived after a good 6 weeks but was not ready for delivery, my CA tells me that the residuals dropped on the car and he did not lock in the earlier rates. I was pretty upset since I was waiting for this for almost 7 weeks and was under the assumption that everything was all set.

Well! I said I am not paying anything more on a monthly payment and the car which we agreed upon so do what you have to do. then he took me to his Financial Manager and this is the deal we agreed upon:

15K for 39 months ( earlier was 36 months )

Negotiated Price: $39,600 which is around 50 bucks over invoice
Acq Fee: $625.00
Disposition Fee: $350
Cap cost reduction: 3709.17
Residual Value: $23402.50 ( based on 55% )
Depreciation: $12488.33
Rent Charge(which I think is finance fee): $3376.09

Total monthly payment with tax 5%: $427.00
I also did a 7+ 1 MSD so I get 3600 back after the lease

Total lease cost: $21899.00

So, over all if I stuck to the earlier deal I would have paid around $415.00/month

I also took the tire/rim protection at dealers cost and floor mats.

Overall it was a nice experience other then the minor glitch and at the end of the day I love the car. its my first bmw.

I would like to hear your comments on this.
