Downpipe Flanges

Is it customary for the flanges on catless downpipes to be welded on the inside? Not sure if this is a weird question or not..

Usually is on the outside. I don’t recall seeing any welded on the inside. Not talking about bmw only. Exhaust flanges in general

I'm super picky/OCD on certain things, my car being one unfortunately. It's eating at me inside that one is not like the other on this center exhaust flange now lol. Maybe if I offer to pay for shipping just to get the other one welded inside and pretty to match that would be fair?

The pipes are 2 different angles. The one on the right is angled different to fit the mid pipe and so is the one on the left thats why the welds are in different spots. Look at the angles on both pipes and where it's welded on the outside.

Install them and enjoy it.

I'm not sure how does fitting up to the exhaust mid pipe have to do with welding the flanges on the inside or not? Like one pipe is completely welded inside through the entire circumference whereas the other is completely not.

AR resonated, yes. And they are beautiful except this one little difference is killing me.

I'm so confused, you confirmed with a vendor that the rear downpipe center exhaust flange is welded on the inside but the front downpipe exhaust center flange isn't welded on the inside? I looked all over FB and saw all their dp's they show off has been welded everywhere including inside the flange connections that's why I'm not like wth you know

Look at their product page. The welds are the same as the picture you posted.

I have to disagree sorry, that's what I'm talking about you can clearly see they are welded inside the flange.

I called Tommy up at AR and talked for a few minutes. Awesome customer service! Great support even for a pia like myself He explained all downpipes that are being slid on to the exhaust would have the welding done on the inside just to make a good connection, but for being bolted up unless there is significant overhang or welding slag they are not typically welded on the inside.

He is more than happy to accommodate me still so I'll just cover the extra shipping since it's not essential, but will make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
