Power steering pump replacement UK

Hey guys, any idea where I can purchase a power steering pump online? For E92 N55 LCI Everywhere I look are out of stock!

Also seems that there are many different options out there. The part number from realoem is 32416779244 however when you put that in google I end up with power steering pumps for most BMW's apart from 335i!

Brand new they are over £700 from BMW, so would rather look elsewhere!

Thanks!

Are you sure it's a faulty pump & not just low, wrong or old fluid?
Maybe worth trying a flush & refilling with Pentosin CHF 11s before spending out on a new pump

^^^^ This.

Mine was squealing like a banshee until i filled the fluid up a little. The fact that it all leaked out again straight is a mute point however ... the high pressure line had a split in it!

I have drained and refilled the power steering fluid. When I purchased it the previous owner has put ATF instead of CHF, so I flushed it all out with new but the noise stayed the same.

I checked for air bubbles, leaks, low fluid and found nothing. Took it to a garage and they said the pump was at fault. I am happy to change it myself but struggling to find a new/recon part.

My last hope is to clean the filter in the reservoir and see if that helps but I am not holding out too much hope! Could that be the issue?

Have you checked on FB for people breaking a 3-series? I'm on a couple of E90/E92/E93 FB groups and there are always loads of cars being broken.

Bound to be able to get a pump off one of those guys and it'll probably cost you a fraction of the cost new.

I don't know if it works the same on a 335i but when I bought my e34 M5 back in the day, unbeknown to me the previous owner had used the wrong fluid & it had perished the seals, now sorting that was expensive

I will be doing a fluid change along with a new filter this weekend, I cannot see any leaks but I'll be sure to check everything. Hopefully not too expensive! =)

I'll be sure to check out those Facebook groups too! It seems the power steering pump only came on e8x and e9x 335i, all other engines have a different pump, hence not many around!

Thanks guys!

Managed to change the fluid, change the filter and there is an improvement to how easy the steering wheel is to turn, however the whining is still present and if the revs fall too low its like I have no power steering at all!

I can see flow within the reservoir, no bubbles and not loosing any fluid. I cannot see any glitter or sludge.

I am going to swap out the pump, the belt & pulleys, see if that solves my issue!
