.... hence why I have moved on to self servicing whenever possible thanks to the awesome generous folks who contribute their knowledge and learnings to this forum. Frankly, I would not still own this baby if not for the existence of this forum! |

Dealer used to screw me up with the free oil changes they performed. They took off the lower little trapezoidal door to access plug, and then didn't put it back on. I discovered it when i got home 22 miles away. I called and they had to order a replacement. I went back and they put new one on. Next oil change, same thing but i remembered to look before I ever drove car off. They took car back to shop and put it back. I started learning to remove it myself before taking it in so they couldn't loose it. I was doing oil changes at my own cost in between the dealer every 10,000 mile interval and making sure it wasn't falling off too. I don't go to that dealer now. I have another i go to only when I really need something I can't do. |

My process is as follows. Spray everything down with simple green. Let sit for a couple minutes and agitate the surface with a soft scrub brush. Rinse away thoroughly with garden hose. I then wipe everything down with a clean microfiber and either let air dry or blow off with compressor. The whole process takes maybe 15 minutes. I own a small shop and clean a lot of engines bays. This method works very well and does not leave a greasy residue behind. |
