I need some help with tires :(

Hey, i've got E90 LCI with Style 194 "17 wheels, By default, it has 225/45 mounted in front and 255/40 in the back. The problem is, I can't find any decent WINTER tires in 255/40 size (or it's too expensive for me). Some people are telling me that 225/45 front and 235/45 would be fine, others tell that 225/45 in front and 245/40 in the back. Who should i trust? do you have any ideas what size tires can i put in the back to not make it look ugly? Thanks!

ideally you want all the tires to have the same diameter and revolutions per mile.

whatever combo gets you there.

I'd probably just do 245/40 all the way around.
or get another set of wheels that aren't staggered and run 225/45 all the way around.

I ran winter 225's on factory staggered 17's without any issues and no funny stuff. Unless you looked quite closely you wouldn't have noticed.

Winter setups are typically more narrow in order to cut through snow and ice.

Garage List
Go with a square winter wheel setup in 225/45/R17 and get spacers for the rear to prevent it from looking weird. Especially with soft snow tires you will absolutely appreciate being able to rotate them for even wear each season.
