help, can't remove oil filter cover

I am trying to change me e90 oil and can not budge the oil filter. I tried a strap wrench, but no luck. Here is my stupid question, you do turn it in the direction of the arrow, clockwise, right?

No, counter-clockwise- just like any screw.

Hi,

As has been mentioned, turn it like any right-hand thread screw. I found that using one of those rubber discs that is used for opening jars (gives you a nice grip) was all that was required to open the cap.

When replacing it, just tighten till the green match marks line up again. No special wrench required.

Regards,
Adnan

I found that a rubber glove works well for me.

+1 on all of this. i found that a large rubber band makes a good grip too.
