Has anyone changed the color of their interior with dye/vinyl paint?

It's the cheap way I know.. but there is a couple pieces I'd like to change the color and also I'd like to freshen up the carpet in it too. Just picked up my 07 328i and it's a work in progress to say the least, the previous owner didn't seem to care very much about it and while I got a very good deal on the car I am certainly going through it inside and out. Just wanted to get some opinions on the dye/paint brands or types of anyone's used such. Thanks!

I have used Colorbond leather on my daughter's car. Not a BMW.

Though I mostly used it to repair discoloration and damage.

It has held up well after two years of use.

There was a dye brand from the UK I was impressed with. I dyed a grey leather split arm rest to terra brown and am happy with the results. I recommend using a "finisher" to seal the dye job and prevent bleeding. Do some research, it's definitely doable. The only downside is that it takes time.

I have not done it yet but I'm thinking of doing white and black interior like the lemon color interior, but i will be using Braun elite racing series seats, and most likely Tesla white dye because most car seat dye , or paint is per brand . If I get more info I will let you more

I'm mainly looking to do the lower half of my dash panel (beige) cause the top half is black and I can't stand all the beige!!! Haha which I also plan on wrapping my trim (not sure what yet tho) and then I can figure out what color I wanna do but I'm thinking black panels and possibly a dark gray carpet. Idk I'm all over the place trying to do a million things to the damn car at once hahaha

You plan on pulling out the dash, or you gonna paint it while it is in the car?

Well my plan would be to pull it.. buuuuttttt this car is new to me so I'm gonna have to do some homework. It's really only the lower half and the center cause the top is already black. I'm thinking about lower dash, center section/arm rest, pillars and headliner/carpet black and then trim and seats in the "88 and up" gray. Idk I'm just spitballin for right now

I tried going from beige to black with SEM vinyl dye spray cans. Followed all the steps to prep/clean/degrease and it still chipped/flaked off of some parts when I was putting them back in the car, so I wouldn't recommend using that.

Scanspeaks DIY is thorough to say the least and hardly cheap, I hope that it has stood up well.

Well this is my plan..

And I wanna wrap my trim in anthracite CF.
I think I'm gonna try the colorbond stuff and see how it goes.

Might do full black door panels though..

That white/cream/oyster (whatever they call it) will need to be maintained frequently if this is going to be a daily driver. Keep that in mind. Jeans do all kinds of mess to those seats.

Very true. I like the idea of a dark/charcoal grey but the car is sparkling graphite. Maybe just all black :
