Washing MF Towels
I am new to high quality washing, with previous cars I just used whatever crap I had laying around. With my new ride that obviously wont do. I have gotten some good MF Towels, and the waffle weave ones from Detailed Image. Anything I need to know about washing the towels themselves?

Careful with the heat settings... MF towels can "melt" so to speak.
I just wash with liquid detergent (that does NOT contain fabric softener) in cold water with medium or gentle setting. I don't use the dryer and prefer to hang dry in the open. If you use the dryer, use the lowest setting possible (without heat is preferable, again because the MF fibers can melt with enough heat). |

I did a pretty good search on this (after spending so much $$$ on the darn things). My conclusion is that you should treat them like you do a newborn's clothes & sheets. Detergent with no perfumes, softeners, or bleach. No fabric softener. Extra rinse if you have the option. Drying's OK on low heat or tumble only, but no dryer sheets. (Tide Free, Cheer Free, etc)
Just get them as clean and close to new as possible, and try not to introduce any additional chemicals besides detergent. Then make sure the detergent gets rinsed out well. |

Here's our complete guide on how we recommend caring for microfiber towels.
When cared for properly, you get a lot more out of the towels and better bang for your buck since you don't have to replace them sooner. Let me know if you have any questions. George |
