BMW Live

Hi,

sorted my retrofit and just mopping up a few features and i'm drawing a blank when it comes to BMW Live. I've followed FaxData's thread which has been really useful especially getting the Nav working.

've added 6AL to Cas & NFRM and coded CIC and MEDIA. i've got my iphone paired via bluetooth and also tried using the USB port in the armrest but I cannot see to get BMW Live to load. just says starting BMW Live then after a while tells me its failed to connect to it.

I notice on the CID the icons seem to come and go for my phone signal and also the icon that looks like a globe with arrows.

when i disconnect bluetooth and try via USB it says transferring data but doesnt actually do anything. Data transfer via bluetooth is ticked.

the CIC and Combox are coded to my VIN.

Anyone got any ideas?

i've added my trace files and FA.

p.s. im also trying to get BMW Internet/Online working as well but thought i'd tackle one thing at a time, however if what is required is adding $514 and some coding of these trace files, please let me know.

File Type: txt CIC TRC.txt (17.0 KB, 51 views)
File Type: txt MEDIA TRC.txt (3.2 KB, 50 views)

I initially had mine working but eventually it died.
I'm pretty sure bmw blocked access or shut down the servers.
Having used it though regardless. It's pretty useless and if I were to give any advice I'd say save yourself the hassle and buy an android screen unit or do what I did and get an apple or android auto box

More modern tech and easier to use

I’m half tempted mate, I was trying to be as own as possible but I’m realising that’s it is old tech and the faff isn’t really worth it.

I did see a CarPlay box on Ali express the other day which seemed alright. But I want to avoid audio over aux. Have you any suggestions for a decent CarPlay box?
